The Genii Games App (iOS and Android) was my last major App project for Genii Games. It’s an African learning-learning mobile app with multiple modules. Each module consists of multiple topics with interactive lessons and games for learning. Modules currently available include conversational Yoruba, Igbo, Kiswahili, Twi, Ewe and Wolof.
Features
Multiple modules in one
The app supports multiple modules though it’s up to the user to download each individual title. This keeps the app size small. Downloaded tiles can be deleted or added at any time. Online access is required for download after which users can access the content offline without relying on their data or internet access.
Multi-Platform Support
The app correctly scales on Android and iOS regardless of the screen size.
Multi-lingual
Most titles are available in English, French and Portuguese. That is, African language to English, French and Portuguese translation depending on the language setting of your device. A user does not need to do anything. Once the app is first run, it auto-detects the language and switches itself. However, this is limited to French, English and Portuguese withe English being the default if the local language settings falls outside the 3 options.
Payment Integration
The app works on a freemium in-app model. What that means is, some contents are available for free when you download the app specifically the first 2 topics in each module is free to download. Unlocking the full module i.e. all 13 topics in a module costs $8.99. Payment is via Google Play or Apple Store. We also provide bulk pricing and licensing for users but that requires mailing in to activate such licenses without going through the App stores.
Fully Integrated Backend
The App comes with a fully integrated backend to ensure users continually have access to its content. Hence, a registered user will retain his or her access to paid titles as the data is stored in a secure server. Registered users can login to view the modules they own.
